Rande S. Atcherson is a Prince George’s County native with over 15 years of experience working in the private and public sectors providing services including strategic marketing and communications, project management, brand development, and change management practices. He currently holds the position of Manager, Enterprise Change Management for the Mission Square Retirement. At Mission Square, he leads communications and training programs for system implementation and business process improvement projects. In this role, he is also responsible for analyzing change in employee and client behavior surrounding technology adoption and utilization. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from Towson University.
Rande is passionate about working with organizations to provide his thought leadership, brand development, strategic marketing and communications, and change management industry experience. He founded Speak for a Cause, LLC in 2016, a change management agency dedicated to working with local nonprofit organizations, community leaders, and minority-owned businesses. Under Speak for a Cause, Rande partners with businesses that provide community improvement and health related services to the residents of Prince George’s County and surrounding areas. His work with his partners is centered in developing strong brands to engage the community. Utilizing branding guidelines and principles, he facilitates the process in identifying his client unique image, look and feel, and messaging strategy. Rande further aids organizations with building a strong presence through websites, online and print material, video production, social media management, event planning and hosting, and marketing platform support.
In 2018, Rande was the recipient of the Prince George’s County Top Forty under 40 award for his contributions to the County’s business community.
Rande served as President of the Board of Directors for the zzhistoric Hillcrest Children and Family Center, a mental health and substance abuse treatment center providing services for youth and families in the D.C. metropolitan area for over 200 years. At Hillcrest, he provides his thought leadership and change management expertise to launch several mental health awareness initiatives, including a social media campaign that received the Microsoft Technology Innovation Award. At the center, Rande saw the need to engage the community through unconventional methods. In partnership with the CEO, staff, and Board of Directors, he established their mental health awareness initiative - One Love for a City. This annual event develops partnerships with local business owners, creative artists, and mental health professionals to spread awareness surrounding mental health disparities in underserved populations in the D.C. metropolitan area. This week-long event has garnered deeper relationships with the community and has helped in alleviating the stigma surrounding seeking mental health treatment.
Rande is dedicated to improving the lives of the people in his community through strategic partnerships and creative programming. As a Spoken Word artist, he helps agencies spread awareness surrounding a broad range of social issues such as HIV/AIDS, mental health, substance abuse, homelessness, and child abuse. Rande is an agent of change, it is his life mission to fulfill the needs of the underserved population in his own unique way.
My purpose is serving the under-served community. There is nothing more fulfilling than to see how my work behind the scenes outwardly impacts lives.
