Rande S. Atcherson is a Prince George’s County native with over 18 years of experience in strategic marketing, communications, project management, brand development, and change management. He currently serves as Manager of Enterprise Change Management at a local private organization, where he leads communication and training programs for system implementations and business process improvement projects. Rande is responsible for driving technology adoption and analyzing changes in employee and client behavior. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from Towson University.
In 2016, Rande founded Speak for a Cause, LLC, an agency focused on supporting local nonprofits, community leaders, and minority-owned businesses. Through Speak for a Cause, he partners with organizations that provide community-based services, guiding them in building strong and engaging missions. His expertise includes developing comprehensive marketing strategies, enhancing digital and print presence, organizing events, and managing social media campaigns to drive awareness and impact.
In 2018, Rande was honored with the Prince George’s County Top Forty Under 40 award for his contributions to the County’s business and civic community. His dedication to public service is further demonstrated through his role as President of the Board of Directors for Hillcrest Children and Family Center, a 200-year-old mental health and substance abuse treatment center serving the D.C. metropolitan area. There, he launched several mental health awareness initiatives, including the One Love for a City campaign, which built partnerships with local businesses, artists, and mental health professionals to address mental health disparities in underserved communities.
A dedicated community advocate, Rande currently serves as Vice President of the Board of Directors for Largo Town Center Association, where he has led efforts to raise awareness around the importance of stormwater management and water quality. His leadership helped influence the Prince George’s County Council to establish a task force to study privately held stormwater systems across the county. Rande also spearheaded the Downtown Largo Festival, an event that promotes local talent and businesses while educating the public about sustainable practices, particularly in stormwater management.
Rande continues to play an active role in Largo’s development, volunteering his time to work alongside developers in the Downtown Largo area to ensure community voices are heard and sustainable solutions are implemented in development projects.
As a Master Gardener, he educates the community on the impact of gardening practices on water quality, including the importance of organic gardening.
In addition to his work in business and advocacy, Rande is a Spoken Word artist who uses his platform to raise awareness about critical social issues such as environmental sustainability, mental health, and economic development. Through strategic partnerships and creative programming, Rande is committed to improving the lives of the people in his community, fulfilling his mission to serve the underserved in his own unique way.
My purpose is serving the under-served community. There is nothing more fulfilling than to see how my work behind the scenes outwardly impacts lives.
